I didn't watch the Grammys myself but in a write up of it I read a transcript of Kanye's acceptance speech: he brought up his mom...AFTER they tried to play him off. Then he said it would be in good taste for them to stop playing the music.

Good taste would have been not bringing up your dead mother to get more stage time.
