Bad rap for Ga. Theatre

Why does the flagpole and the local 'hipper than you are' crowd show no love for the Georgia Theatre? Sure they have more cover bands and other crap than I'd prefer, but it looks and sounds great in there. It's really hands down the best place to see a show in town. And they get all kinds of music in there. Why is it still 'the hippie joint'? It's like the flagpole refuses to cover the shows there. I just like the way it sounds. Isn't that what it is supposed to be about anyway?

You really think the Theatre is any less clean that any other place in town? It's actually one of the cleaner bars in Athens. You must write for the Flagpole. In which case you wouldn't cover theatre shows anyway. This is the kind of pre-concieved judgment I am talking about. Anyone who was been in there in the last year or so would not say that.

The Ga. Theatre is NASTY, that's why! Any place where my shoes STICK TO THE FLOOR because it is so filthy is why I'm not covering any shows there.

Perhaps they should stop charging $3 for a 12 oz can of PBR...
