Gum under the table is soooo middle school! It's lovely, really, to accidentally put your finger in a nice fresh wad of it. Grrrrrr!

C'mon people. Why do you think that it is ok to throw your fu**ing McDonald's trash out the window of your car? Quit being a lazy-ass and carry it to a trash can.

I was babysitting a 6 year old for her dad. She makes a comment to a black child's mom "my mom won't let me play with black kids". The black mom tells me I don't know how to raise my children right. She calls me racist. I tried to tell her that I wasn't the girl's mom. She wouldn't listen. I can't change how they raise their child. Given some space maybe she will see that not all blacks are bad. She knows what she's told (mom says not to play with blacks) & what she sees (her black neighbors bully her & recently broke into her house, black lady is yelling at my babysitter).

I have been wrongly accused of being racist & humiliated for something that is out of my control. I teach tolerance & respect to my kids. We have black friends. I teach black children. It is so frustrating to be treated like this!
Don't kill your allies in the process of defending yourself from the enemy.

Spay and neuter your dogs too!!!! If you are looking for a pet, adopt a dog from the shelter or from a rescue group!!!! Try to rehome instead of dumping a dog at the pound. People, do you realize that if you surrender your dog to the pound they are allowed to euthanize it as soon as you sign that paper. They only have to keep strays at the pound for 5 days. There are apartments that allow dogs... please don\'t let housing restrictions end your pet\'s life!

Why does the flagpole and the local 'hipper than you are' crowd show no love for the Georgia Theatre? Sure they have more cover bands and other crap than I'd prefer, but it looks and sounds great in there. It's really hands down the best place to see a show in town. And they get all kinds of music in there. Why is it still 'the hippie joint'? It's like the flagpole refuses to cover the shows there. I just like the way it sounds. Isn't that what it is supposed to be about anyway?

So, AthensDoorGuy obviously works at some place like The Library or Bourbon Street or any one of those horrible college bars on the east end of downtown. I understand your frustration but you'd probably be a lot less frustrated if you didn't work in such a lame place.
The idea, though, that your somehow "tuned in" to the Athens scene because of your job is laughable. Working in crappy, lame, college-kid bars is as generic in a college town as working at McDonalds anywhere else. None of those bars has any personality or class or, even, a distinct identity from one another. They're all ridiculous and, like I said, I feel for you and all the crap you put up with but it should have been obvious from the start.

For the love of all that is good please rain.

He's hardly ever there (and why would he be his son is ~18 months old...) but when he is there he lets his dog sh*t in my yard and speeds down the street in his P.O.S. car day after day. There are many young kids on our street. It's a f*ing cul-de-sac a**hole. SLOW DOWN! And tell your Redneck buddies to slow down as well.
