Baxter and Alps

Didn't we already have this discussion?

You can't go straight from the left-most lane at the intersection of Baxter and Alps. That lane is a left turn only lane. It is a PROTECTED left turn, FFS. So why is there always some jerk up front preventing everyone in the left lane from turning because they felt like going straight but DIDN'T feel like getting into the correct lane?

It's not even that hard to fix your mistake if you got into the wrong lane. Just turn right into the Kroger parking lot, go to the other side, and make a left from there.

Alps and Broad

Does anyone know why you can't turn left onto Broad Street/Atlanta Highway from Alps, like if you're headed toward downtown? I always thought it was weird and it's definitely inconvenient.

Lets go ahead and add Scooter to the list!

A scooter pulling out in front of traffic during rush hour and then only being able to drive 25 mph? Get off of the roads! There needs to be some legislation or something about where those things can drive. Campus roads? Fine. State highways? No.

Bitchy Bicyclist on Sunset

I have no problem sharing the roadway with people who ride bicycles, let me make that perfectly clear. However, this morning, some rude woman on one this morning on Sunset Dr. decided to shoot me dirty looks and wave repeatedly for me to go around her. I wasn't even close to her, and was about to turn into my condo complex, and therefore trying to be courteous and not pass her and then turn immediately after. Is there something wrong with that?

i hate motorcycles

just because your on a motorcycle, doesnt mean the rules of the road dont apply to you. and i think most of you forget that your motorcycle is alot smaller than my SUV, and sometimes hard to see.

once i was going down Atlanta highway in front of bestbuy. i was in the left lane, and a white pickup was in the right. we both needed to switch, and had our signals on. the white pickup slowed down, and i sped up a bit so we can do the ole switcheroo. and just as we both started changing lanes, some dumbf**k on his motorcycle decideds to port around the white pickup and weave around our vehincs just so he can be in the front, and lead the convoy.

if he were to lean a little too far, he could have very easily fell off his little toy, and slid right under my tires.

so take this in consideration when your climbimg onto your motorcycle, and about to get into heavy traffic. your smaller than most of the vehicles, and stupid stuff like this can really cause a tragic accident. or, if done to the wrong person, could get you purposly ran over OR shot.

You know what? F--- all of you

I almost got hit twice: once because apparently turning into traffic in front of me is more important than waiting two seconds (there was no traffic behind me) and once because apparently the parking spot I was pulling into seemed like a better spot to this other driver than any other spot in a nearly empty parking lot.

Why are you pulling into traffic when you clearly have no time to? Why can't you wait for one car to go by first? Why are you trying to pull into the same parking spot I am in a nearly empty parking lot?

Early afternoon traffic usually sucks more than normal traffic but today it seems like people are going out of their way to hit me.

Heads up on 316

A shout out to the lady who let me know my gas cap was open. Thanks.

I know it's a small thing but I usually rant about bad drivers and I wanted to give some praise for once.

Public Service Announcement: The Beechwood Shopping Center Exit

(The light at the intersection of Baxter and Alps & driving away from the movie theater.)

1) From the right hand lane you can turn right or go straight. From the left hand lane you can turn left, and that's it. You cannot go straight from the left hand lane. The arrows painted on the ground clearly indicate this.

2) Traffic in the left hand lane will never trigger the regular green lightonly the green arrow., They installed that device that detects when a vehicle is sitting at the light so that the lights can change based on traffic instead of just a timer (you can see the score marks in the pavement if you look). If you are in the left hand lane and nobody is in the right hand lane you are going to be sitting there for forever. Someone has to be in the right lane to before the regular light will turn green. (Likewise, the left turn light won't come on if no one gets in the left lane)

I point all of this out because twice now I've ended up sitting through a green light in the left turn lane because the person in front of me wouldn't go because they didn't want to turn left. No one was in the right hand lane but instead of changing lanes or turning left and cutting through the Kroger parking lot to get back to Baxter they just sat there.

Speeders in Hull St. Deck!

Seriously, is it necessary to exit the parking deck in such a hurry that you drive 25mph?!

Even though there are no lines marking lanes, you still don't have permission to haul ass in or out of the deck while driving straight down the middle.

If you can not maneuver your car around a turn without taking up half of someone else's lane, you shouldn't be allowed to drive. This is especially true if you are a dumb college student who drives a gigantic SUV. Not only should you not have that because you can't drive, but also because you're not a soccer mom.

If you're driving so fast that when turning a corner and seeing that there is in fact a car coming the other way (should that be a shock?), that you need to slam on your brakes and shift into your lane...you are in fact an a**hole.

Last time I checked there isn't a "Fast and the Furious: Hull Deck." Parking spots will still be there if you slow the down.
