Hey Idiot!

Yeah, you. The one wearing your headphones in public places.

Quit wearing your stupid headphones in public places!

It's fine if you're on the bus or walking to school. But if you are in a store and you're wearing headphones... no.

Why?! Why are you wearing them? What could you possibly be listening to?

I swear, every time I see one of these idiots and they want to talk to me, I just want to punch them in the face and stab their ear drums out. They won't be needing them when they get 50+. Might as well get them used to it, and early.

i agree it's shitty to wear the headphones when interacting as a customer...but while walking around the grocery store, i'd rather listen to my music than what they play of the speakers or other people shopping. as long as i don't try to interact with anyone else and don't get in anyone's way i'm going to wear my headphones and enjoy mundane tasks like grocery shopping.

"why does this site even exist? just for people to come on and complain about things? really?"

ummm. Go the F**K away then?

seriously. i for one would much rather listen to music than the some of the inane conversations going on around me. why does this site even exist? just for people to come on and complain about things? really? this is the best way some folks have found to spend their time?! i finally learned to be AMUSED by the things that used to annoy me, and life is much better this way.

They're wearing noise-canceling headphones or listening to music to drown out the entirely too-loud, brainless conversations of the people who are shopping with one or more other people. It it completely unnecessary to have to listen to people debating the pros and cons of Kotex or listen to some kid scream for candy.

What about women with iPods walking alone after dark? That's a brilliant recipe for trouble.

This is a good point. Some customer came up to me yesterday while I was at work. He continued to listen to his loud music while I tried to help him. Also, people who are on their cell phones irritate me to no end. I don't mind if they are trying to end their conversation and the other person just won't shut up but the ones who continue to talk while I try to ask them if they are allergic to any medications, if they have any insurance, and fairly important stuff like that are just plain rude. Usually, the cell phone people are not college kids either. It's always great when they call back later to ask questions and be confused.
