Does anyone know why you can't turn left onto Broad Street/Atlanta Highway from Alps, like if you're headed toward downtown? I always thought it was weird and it's definitely inconvenient.

It was definitely not a recent change. It's been like that for decades.

It was changed only about 2 or 3 years ago I believe.
I remember the good old days, turning anywhere you want.

It's obvious what is being referred to here. There is an intersection of Broad and Alps, at which a motorist approaching the intersection with downtown to his/her left, is not allowed to make such a left turn. Yes, Hawthorne is the name of that street, but the intersection is the same.

Yes, I meant Hawthorne. I always forget the road name changes. So yeah, what I meant was that you can't turn left from Hawthorne onto Broad. Sorry for the confusion!

There are two left turn lanes to get onto Atlanta Hwy from Alps but then you're headed toward the mall, not toward downtown. Does the OP mean Hawthorne Ave?

Um...if you turn left from Alps onto Broad - you aren't headed downtown. Well, downtown Bogart, maybe...

You used to be able to. It's a fairly new development. Very inconvenient.
