Dear drunk b*tches that come into the bar and order vodka waters with lemon lime a splash of cranberry and 3 ice cubes, 7 hot pink shots of my choice, and would like to open 4 tabs for 5 of the shots and pay cash for the rest......,

I am not your servant. I do not get paid nearly enough to have you speak to me the way you do. Nor do I appreciate you taking 10 minutes to get the money you didn't realize you had to pay for your drinks out of your purse and then throwing this money at me like I'm a whore and you just had your way with me. I work to pay my bills, and my bills are paid by your often inappropriate/non existent tips. If you order a drink and I am pleasant to you: TIP me for serving you, refrain from rolling your eyes at me, and don't shove your change back into your purse without even looking at our tip jars. Further, 5% at the end of the night is not ok. nor is 10% on 100.00 tab. NOWHERE IN THE WORLD IS THIS CONSIDERED OK UNLESS YOUR SERVICE WAS SO BAD YOU NEVER WANT TO COME BACK AGAIN. If you don't have the money for a tip, don't order drinks. NOTE: if you do tip this way or don't tip at all..we WILL remember you and you WILL be served last from that moment on. Also, don't get bitchy with me because its 2:30am and you want a drink that I cannot legally serve you.
I like people, and I like to bartend. I consider myself extremely nice and helpful to all people the enter my establishment. But slowly my soul and hope in humanity is being destroyed by people that behave the way SOME of you do. ACT RIGHT PEOPLE. I know you know how.

09/07/2010 - 20:48

"NOWHERE IN THE WORLD IS THIS CONSIDERED OK UNLESS YOUR SERVICE WAS SO BAD YOU NEVER WANT TO COME BACK AGAIN."

Actually, this is bullshit. Try going to other countries than the USA, and you might learn that it's not common practice to "tip" a paid employee of a bar for doing their job, i.e. getting a beer from the refrigerator and handing it to me.
This is not the case in Britain, in France, in Germany, in Italy, Sweden, Finland, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Russia, Japan, etc., etc., etc.
If you think you're worth loads of money try getting a real job and don't bitch about people not giving you enough free money for absolutely nothing, then lying about it being "not ok" anywhere else in the world.
Go live abroad for a while and grow the fuck up.

05/29/2010 - 23:56

it might have been an old woman, instead

05/06/2010 - 07:44

How u gonna stomp my face in when i put two in your chest and one in the head old man?

05/01/2010 - 20:49

congrats for having so many comments.
stop being so dramatic. it's not the end of all hope.

bottom line, it is your job - you chose it knowing that there are big tippers, tippers, and no tippers in the world. I don't know that the right amount to tip at a bar is... but 10% isn't zero, nor is it low coming from a bunch of college kids.

I see why anyone would be frustrated at rude customers. I know I would be - but it is the job you chose... and the downside to getting tips and paid pretty well for the hours you put in is the high chance of encountering rude drinkers.

04/26/2010 - 22:07

What a terrible attitude those kids at the bar have.

What a terrible attitude most of these posters have.

Which is why, for such a very long time, I resorted to simply beating the living shit out of the customers at the bar that I worked at for the better part of a decade only because so many of them would completly forget the basic idea to treat another human being with common courtesy and decency.

Calm explainations and rants online don't always work to help ignorant people see that their attitudes are shitty and their sense of entitlement is totally unnecessary and inappropriate, but when you're getting punched and stomped in the face on the sidewalk of Athens at 1:30am in the morning, I've seen those attitudes change to apologies extremely quickly.

04/17/2010 - 11:08

I'll keep going the f**k out and drink! And as many have already said the whiny crying is pathetic.

See you crying babies at the bar.

04/17/2010 - 02:08

Shut the fuck up and serve me my drink bitch

04/16/2010 - 19:16

OK children, everyone gather 'round and listen really carefully...sometimes in life, people have to take certain jobs regardless of how shitty they might be because it's just a part of growing up. Sometimes, and just sometimes, certain jobs are appealing because of their hours, wages, etc. and sometimes people even have to take MORE THAN ONE JOB. What? You mean you can't get everything you need from one job's shitty wages???? Ok children, I know this is a lot for you to handle, but don't worry because your parents are teaching you so much responsibility not making you work and all. It's so awesome that you won't have to work until after you get a degree, but some of us have to grow up a little earlier. Let's end the bitchy "Stop whining" comments...this town DOES NOT have a lot to offer job-wise. If it upsets you so much that someone doesn't wake up looking forward to the minute that you piss all over their night, STAY THE FUCK HOME AND DRINK.

04/10/2010 - 14:17

Why in the hell would I want to bar-tend in a college town like this, where most of the kids are broke half the time? The OP is all kinds of retarded.

04/10/2010 - 07:58

It's their choice to be a bartender, a crybaby one at that. Pathetic.

04/09/2010 - 23:14

Try to support yourself on a bartender's wage, you miserable dicks. Then, you can spout your bull$hit. What a collection of a$$holes.

04/09/2010 - 22:54

It's hilarious how many comments there are on here that include "Who cares?!"...obviously you all do since you just read one of the longest posts on Athens Vent and took the time to comment as well. This is called Athens Vent, and the name doesn't leave much to the imagination. If you don't care about the topic, you could stop reading and go take your aggression out on some unsuspecting bartender downtown, as I'm sure a lot of you will since the witch hunt has begun for the OP.

04/09/2010 - 17:50

Whooooooooooooooooooo cares!

04/09/2010 - 16:57

Erm, it's those of us who have real jobs who realize how tough a lot of people have it in the service industry. A lot of us have been there. Superior service gets superior tips. The lot of you sound like high maintenance little girls who snort when they have to wait an extra minute for their frou-frou sex on the beach. Believe me, your public nastiness gets remembered. And word gets around.

04/09/2010 - 12:44

OK. My friends and I are taking bets on what bar this person works at. I wonder if the O.P. will help us settle our bet? We promise you a BIG tip, and we'll go slow. :-)

04/09/2010 - 12:37

I have a hard time feeling too sorry for the O.P.

Sure, service jobs have more than their fair share of rude people involved, then again, you'll run into rude people everywhere. Stop whining and deal with it.

Plus, the O.P. seems like the kind of guy that once someone disagrees with a poin of his that he sees infallible, he starts hurling insults- just like a little cry-baby whiny brat of a child. Maybe there's a reason he doesn't get treated so great....

We have to take your word for it that the scenario you describe is accurate. Maybe some of us read a little more into given the nature of your cry-baby rant.

At the end of the day, if you don't like your job, grow a pair and quit. Bitch.

04/09/2010 - 12:23

All the people that are leaving comments defending nasty behavior toward servers/bartenders are the people that this fed up person is talking about and they just realized it. No need to get defensive losers just learn some manners and maybe you'll be able to look in the mirror and finally like yourselves one day. Until then keep suckin it. I'll see you and you hooker friends at the bar this weekend.

04/09/2010 - 12:20

Hey chach, you live in a town filled with college drunks. what do you expect?

04/09/2010 - 10:30

Awww did it get it's feelings hurt?

04/09/2010 - 10:15

Oh give it a rest crybaby. Nobody cares.

04/09/2010 - 09:47

I think all of you defending rude behavior towards this bartender have proven just what kind of people this town is filled with. It's terrifying that you all live amongst us and that treating someone who serves you this way is not only acceptable but normal behavior for you scumbags. I hope mommy and daddy have enough money to sustain you through your lives because you clearly don't even have the intelligence to read well enough to see that this person is not complaining about not getting tipped well. But about being treated poorly, putting up with it, and then to top it off not getting tipped after the bullsh*t they put up with. Which is a beyond reasonable thing to have to vent about. idiots.

04/09/2010 - 06:28

Are you a good whore or a bad whore? lol

04/09/2010 - 01:05

Mmmm pathetic cry babies. Seeing you whine makes my day even better! Fool lol to be able to have a great job and laugh at idiots like you. Oh what a life. Thanks for some real entertainment!

04/08/2010 - 23:17

Could have sworn that the OP was a woman but then again a gay.

04/08/2010 - 23:00

Most people don't start out in life with "real careers" unless mommy and daddy are providing a stellar job or just handing out cash.

04/08/2010 - 22:57

Don't tell me that you all have had jobs and yet never experienced a single incident that you felt warranted venting. I don't even drink (not that there is anything wrong with drinking, I just happen not to) but I am still able to realize that this bartender is indeed a human being who is being treated poorly. Then again, the people who are siding with the drunk rude females are probably frequently drunk and rude themselves. Otherwise, I do not see how someone can condone this. Just because people treat this individual poorly, he deserves it? If I see someone robbing another person, should I just assume that they deserve it? This seems like a reasonable topic to vent about.

04/08/2010 - 22:25

I feel empathy for those who must tolerate this crazed bartender.
Note to bartender: Time for you to find another job in Athens, or move to a richer demographic and work your "charm" there. Have an awesome weekend!! Lolz

04/08/2010 - 22:19

I shall have my way with you, whore!

04/08/2010 - 22:18

Anyone who has sympathy for this bartender clearly has not had a real career, or lived on their own outside of Athens. From now on when I want to get piss drunk, I'll buy a shit ton of drinks and not tip because it's free fucking country YeAH!

04/08/2010 - 22:05

Anyone without sympathy for this bartender has obviously never had a job, never had a demanding job, or unknowingly sucked at their job. Inevitably, something annoying will happen to you at work. Not to say that every day something bad happens, depending on the job, but you will eventually have something you would like to vent about. If you cannot afford to give someone a decent tip, you obviously should not be buying drinks downtown.

So it's apparently okay to defend rude people now instead of having a little empathy? Why do we need to feel empathy for what sounds like a bunch of drunk rich girls with poor manners? If these people were to spit on this bartender, would you still defend them? This is ridiculous.

04/08/2010 - 21:49

You know what, if you are a good bartender, you would not have a vent or complaint at all! You need to do better!

04/08/2010 - 21:37

I can't believe how many comments "TRY" to defend some lame bartender! LAME!

04/08/2010 - 21:28

Boo hoo! Cry cry!

04/08/2010 - 17:57

I can't believe how many comments are defending rude/tacky/impolite behavior. Oh, wait -- I'm in Athens.

04/08/2010 - 12:57

Waah Waaah! You people aren't making any good arguments about anything. Just whine and complain. Get over it! See you at the bar, I'll be the one buying a beer and laughing. lol

04/08/2010 - 12:46

WOW. faff off haters and drink at home if you're going to be such inconsiderate b*stards. The rest of us civilized people would like you off the streets anyway. I'm pretty sure this website is called VENT ANTHENS...so why r you hating on someone for venting the frustrations that build up and I'm sure they don't let off at work? People in this town and drunk people in general are incredibly rude sometimes and I watch it happen almost every busy night i'm out. Last weekend a piece of s*it kid smashed his bottle on the floor, laughed, and told his friends that "the janitorial staff" (aka the bar staff) would clean it up. R u kidding me? Just because you're drunk doesn't mean you have a free pass at acting like a neanderthal, *sshole.

04/08/2010 - 12:28

rude people suck and so do people that think they're better than those who work service jobs. There are many people that feel you on this one. But unfortunately this town is also filled with ignorant little kids that don't know what it means to work for every dollar.

04/08/2010 - 12:25

The fact is, it's your job no matter how you feel about the customers. Non tippers, tippers, you still have to pour that drink and serve that beer. If you don't like that, you are in the wrong business. Try Dial America.

Another thing, how are you gonna get pissy with a customer who doesn't tip to your liking and only orders beer? Besides the owner looks at the money he's making at the bar, not the tip jar. Maybe you should try to be a better bartender to EARN those tips. I can tell from your whining why you wouldn't get many tips...

Good day.

04/08/2010 - 12:16

Waaaah Waaaah Waaaaah!

04/08/2010 - 12:15

WOW, some of you people really take buying and drink and serving a drink way too SERIOUSLY! My god it's just a stupid bar. If you want respect and to be treated like a princess at your job, go cure cancer or something. Until then, soak it up.

04/08/2010 - 10:55

For your sake, I hope that you are a student and will be graduating soon. Not to say that I hate everyone or something like that but, in general, the public sucks. It is rare that anyone appreciates what you do for them. In general, they are extremely ignorant and I pity them. I have never had a job where I got paid with tips so I cannot imagine how annoying it must be to do so much for so few individuals without a decent tip. Probably, these people are students who live off of mommy and daddy and will soon be living off of a husband, once they achieve their Mrs. degree. Sorry they were rude to you. That probably happens a lot in this town and many others.

04/08/2010 - 09:38

Servers are the most under appreciated people. Frankly, a server has to be pretty bad for me not to leave a tip. There are some of those out there. Some people go out of there way to f*ck with servers, which is wrong. Grow up and be an adult. Treat people like you would want to be treated. Now, that's a double edged sword. The server needs to be polite as well. Try showing the server that you appreciate good service before you finish your drink or meal. Be a good tipper. Girls, don't go out on the town without a plan. Do what is the easiest for the server. You never know. Maybe you get an extra ounce in your drink or your tea filled more often. Have some sense. maybe and idea...watch the move Waiting. It happens. Trust me.

04/08/2010 - 07:17

Your soul and hope in humanity is being destroyed by people who don't tip you well? Give me a f#cKing break! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

04/07/2010 - 22:58

Respect? LOL why the hell do I need to respect the bartender. Give me my drink and shut the hell up.

04/07/2010 - 22:57

pathetic, don't like it...quit.

04/07/2010 - 21:47

HAHA. sooo TRUE. it's a matter of having respect. bottom line is: the d**chebags are the people that are rude to those working hard to make sure they have a good time when they're out. As for it being a pathetic job...not so much. It's a great job (and much harder than most idiots think) to have while in college and the money is wayyy better than any other piece of c*rap job available while in school. Stay strong and keep a smile on your face..and remember: half of the people in the bar around here probably don't know what it means to work hard to pay their own bills! So, you're a step ahead.

04/07/2010 - 21:24

Enter YOUR ESTABLISHMENT? What an idiot you are.
We WILL remember you? Who the f**k cares! Take a picture, write a book, we don't give a flying f**k!

Enjoy your pathetic job cry baby.

04/07/2010 - 21:14

Shut up and do your job. You obviously are a whiny sh*t bartender. If someone wants to order whatever drinks they want and pay how they want, oh f**ckin well. I feel sorry for the place you work for, they obviously have a douche employee. Then again, the place you work for is probably a douche sh*t hole as well.
