Native Athenian away for 8 yrs. Any locals left?

I moved to Athens in 1970 at 5 yrs old when my dad got a professor position in the history dept. I've seen Athens go through lots of changes since I've left in 2002, good and bad. I've been lurking thru various posts here lately. Seems they reflect a continuation of what I've witnessed during my last few years there. I live in San Angelo, TX now. Where I live is more or less like Athens was in the late 1970s before it reached critical mass, minus the trees. I remember the days where people more or less respected each other's pace of life and lifestyle. It appears the roads and driving habits are still the same (though that never was a major peeve of mine). Any feedback from "natives" would be appreciated. BTW, is the Manhattan Cafe still around?

The Manhattan is still around and thriving. Check this out, it really shows the always-evolving nature of this town:

But I'm not a native, just a student still here going on 7 years after graduation (could that be right???).
