how much is this going to cost UGA students? Let the write offs begin :)

This was an email sent out to UGA staff and faculty. I cannot believe UGA administration continues to enjoy the high life while the rest of us suffer. Michael Adams has a "let them eat cake" attitude through and through. He talks a lot about us all taking up the slack from the poor economy and then he takes the jet to dinner in Macon. Meanwhile, my salary has been reduced to a whopping $23K after the furloughs. Athens is a pretty cheap place to live, but I can't afford rent, utilities, gas and food on $23,000; not even here. I'm not saying I should make the same amount as the president of the University, but if I could only make the same as his travel reimbursements for 2007 (http://www.open.georgia.gov/index.html), I may even be able to afford a modest home in Athens. If you check out that web site, not how staff at Georgia State, Kennesaw, and other GA colleges make so much more than the staff at the state's flagship university. I graduated from UGA. I can't even afford to join the Alumni Association. Please let this economy turn around soon!
