They are awful! Almost daily a cab turns in front of me and then drives 5-10 miles below the speed limit around downtown. I see them eating, talking on the phone, ANYTHING but DRIVING, which is their job! And are their cars/vans so sh*tty and old that they don't have turn signals? If all this weren't bad enough? How about that Red and Black article a few weeks back about how most of them had rap sheets as long as your arm?

Oh, and ALWAYS have exact change. They will actually chortle with glee if you don't.

I know! This isn't f-ing New York City, but the prices are the same. $8 to go 2 1/2 blocks! And I wanted to walk, but my boyfriend and the cab driver kept saying that due the the economy, we definitely would have been robbed. Sigh.

What I hate about the pricing is the way they charge per person. So while they'll tell you it's "cheaper" to ride with someone else the fare actually doubles in price.

I hate the creepy cab drivers. Please do not:

  • Hit on the customer
  • Share TMI (medical info for example)
  • Ask for personal info
  • Try to sell the customer something

"Oooh, you sure are fine! Don't you wanna dump your [significant other] and get with me? No? Aw man, I've been hearing bad news all day. My doctor found something in my colon. I thought I was just constipated. You ever felt like you were carrying a brick in your guts? What, I made you uncomfortable? Here, I got something for you: jewlery! Yeah, I sell 'em on the side. No? Here, take this price list anyway. OK, here we are. Are you sure I can't get your phone number?"

i don't see a problem with the driving. i think the pricing system is bogus. they do it by districts rather than by meter price. It's a scam!
